The Practice of Dāna

In the Buddhist tradition, dāna is the practice of generosity. It is an offering made freely, not out of obligation, but from a wish to support the wellbeing of others and the continuation of the Dharma.

Sustaining the Land, Retreats, and Teachings

For over 40 years, Kunzang Dechen Osel Ling (KDOL) has offered a place of silence, retreat, study, and contemplation on the slopes of Mount Tuam. Generations of practitioners have come here to deepen their practice, reconnect with themselves, and experience the profound stillness of this land.

The retreat centre faces ongoing costs to maintain its cabins, retreat facilities, water systems, roads, and forested lands. Every contribution, large or small, helps preserve this sacred place for future generations of practitioners.

Your Support Helps:

• Maintain retreat cabins and facilities
• Care for the land and infrastructure
• Keep retreat opportunities accessible
• Preserve an important centre for Buddhist practice in North America
• Support the ongoing activities and stewardship of KDOL
